A properly installed gutter system is an important part of your home’s construction. The purpose of a gutter system is to collect the water as it comes off of the roof and transport it away from your home to protect the inside and outside of the structure, its foundation, and its immediate surroundings from expensive water damage.
A properly constructed gutter system is one that is pitched to drain. This system has a high back, or a flat back gutter, with a separate piece of flashing, which allows for the gutter to be pitched to drain. Properly pitched gutter systems use a (1/6 inch of drop per 12 inches of run). This will cause the gutter to drain more efficiently and help it to stay cleaner. Gutters flashed in this manner can be pitched to drain so as to direct water away from problem drainage areas such a windows wells, sidewalks, driveways, and gardens.
The best looking and strongest way to install gutters is with hidden hangers and the appropriate size screws. They are placed at each rafter tall (usually every 24”), and unlike the spike and ferrule system, actually hold the gutter together and are not subject to the failure problems that are common to the spike and ferrule application. Gutter Paramedic uses only top quality hardware that will last for many years.
Our pre-painted aluminum gutters are available in 5” and 6” and are anodized on the inside. Aluminum gutters will not rust and are pre-finished with a factory applied baked on enamel finish that is warranted not to peel or blister. You can choose from over 30 colors for a long lasting finish that matches any decor.
